Jens De hertog:

“Horses have been the common thread throughout my entire life. At the age of six, I took my very first steps into the equestrian world at De Verbrande Brug Riding School. What started as a childhood enthusiasm soon grew into a lifelong passion. I spent my entire youth there, surrounded by horses, lessons, and unforgettable moments that laid the foundation for everything that followed.

As I grew older, my focus gradually shifted towards show jumping. I competed for many years at regional level, gaining valuable experience with a variety of horses while continuously developing myself as a rider. Over time, not only my experience but also my ambitions grew: I dreamed of creating my own place, where quality, calmness, and respect for the horse would be central.

That dream became reality with the establishment of a small-scale stable at my home. It was there that my first foal was born — a moment that marked the beginning of my passion for breeding. Watching young horses grow and guiding them from birth into mature sport horses gives me a deep sense of fulfillment. The land on which our stable is located is known as De Zeven Bunders, a name I proudly adopted for my breeding program.

Today, I run a young horse rearing and development stable where welfare, correct upbringing, and long-term potential are always the priority. A particularly meaningful chapter began in December 2025, when we acquired the very riding school where my own journey with horses first started — a symbolic return to my roots.

With experience, dedication, and deep respect for tradition, I continue to build the future of exceptional young horses — driven by the same passion with which it all began.”
